Permits and code inspections
We handle permit applications, engineering coordination, energy code compliance documents, and every municipal inspection, and we schedule around them so inspections don't stall the work.
Building-science checkpoints
Some work can only be checked before the next layer covers it. We build these checks into the schedule as hold points:
- Before backfillFoundation drains, damp-proofing and capillary break
- Before claddingWater-resistive barrier laps, window sill pans and flashing, kick-out flashing
- Before insulationAir sealing at top plates, rim joists, penetrations and sheathing seams
- Before drywallInsulation installed to RESNET Grade I, plus a mid-construction blower door test
- Before handoverDuct leakage test, final blower door, ERV balancing and the final HERS rating
The air barrier crosses every trade
Plumbers, electricians and HVAC installers all cut holes in the air barrier. Before each trade starts, we brief them on which layers can't be cut and how penetrations get sealed, and we check and re-seal after they finish. Most airtightness failures come from coordination gaps, not materials.
